Josh Creamer Goes 1-1 For the Win & Regains the Pro Points From Dustin Wimmer
Delmont, PA – The team of Josh Creamer and Dustin Wimmer would dominate the podium in the number one and two spots at Steel City, while Thomas Brown would put on quite a show to find his way to the podium for the second time this season.
The Steel City track was one of the toughest tracks that racers have encountered so far this season, with huge jumps and big breaking bumps that just seemed to get bigger throughout the day. The sun was out in full force baking racers with temperatures closing in on the 90 degree mark, which would seem to have an impact on some performances throughout the day.
Josh Creamer made an amazing charge in moto one, coming from a 13th place start, to take the moto one win by almost eight seconds. The moto one start was a bit knarly as racers charged off the line, which caused Josh Creamer to get pinched out and forced him to battle his way through the pack. Creamer’s impressive charge had him recording some incredible lap times, with that fastest being a 02:24.531. Creamer would battle with leader John Natalie for a couple of laps before he would be able to make his move in the second to last lap.

Dustin Wimmer was also caught in the first turn traffic and was in 12th off the start. Wimmer would put his head down and work through traffic, picking off the competition one by one as he charged his way into the top five. From there, Wimmer would battle it out with John Natalie before taking over the number three spot just before crossing the finish line, but unfortunately for Wimmer, he would take a huge rock to the knee, which would impact his performance in moto two.

“It was more like a boulder and it hit me right in the knee cap, but I fought hard,” said Wimmer. In moto two, Wimmer got off to a slower start but picked up the pace and worked his way into the number two position after battling with Thomas Brown. Wimmer would take over second in the final few laps and take a second place finish, giving him the number two spot on the podium. “I got off to a slower start but was able to make up several spots and I was able to finish on the podium,” stated Wimmer.

Thomas Brown who has come on strong in the last couple of rounds was looking more than impressive as he shot off the line in third place in the first moto behind Josh Upperman and John Natalie. Brown would stay close to John Natalie and pressured the veteran racer for most of the moto before getting by him in lap nine and pulling away. Brown would go on to take a solid second place in moto one.

“I came out strong in both motos and I was able to hold it together and take two solid finishes. I’m really glad to be able to finish on the podium again,” said Brown.

Can-Am/Motoworks’ John Natalie, who was the hometown favorite for this round, was in second off the line right behind Josh Upperman and took over the lead shortly into the first lap. Natalie was holding strong, but came under fire. Natalie would take a fourth place finish in the first moto. In moto two, Natalie got off to a slower start, but would work his way up to a fifth place finish, which would put him in fourth overall.
