Mesquite, Nevada – A nail biter from start to finish, the final round of the 2009 WORCS series saw Can-Am Motoworks’ Josh Frederick take his first win since returning from injury, however, a new champion was crowned as Mike Cafro Racing’s Beau Baron overcame the odds to win his first ever WORCS Pro ATV Championship.
The final round of the 2009 WORCS series was a highly anticipated one as there were many variables that could have a dramatic effect on who would take the Pro ATV championship. Beau Baron only needed to place eleventh or better to take the championship even if Josh Frederick won the race, but if anything were to happen over the course of the two hour race, Can-Am Motoworks’ Josh Frederick or Jeremie Warnia could easily have the championship. But as fate would have it, Beau Baron and the MCR team overcame the challenges put before them, allowing Baron to take the 2009 WORCS Pro ATV Championship.
Can-Am Motoworks’ Jeremie Warnia grabbed his first ever Pro WORCS holeshot at the final round. “I was very excited to be out front. That was my first holeshot in WORCS,” said the French rider. Warnia would not be able to hold his lead however and would fall back several places after having a close encounter with a tree. Luckily, Warnia was ok and charged back to finish in the number three spot, which would also give him third in the pro points.
